Margie (at Emerging Kids) has done a series on this paper that might be interesting. The first post is here. She's done a great job summarizing and asking pertinent questions.

It would be great to have a study like that. About 3.5 years ago, while pregnanat and still in college, I tried to write a paper about postmodern parenting ( or emergent parenting) and there was so little resources available at that time that I ended up switching to another topic... I think breastfeeding, lol!

how about kids LEAD the worship - for adults...i read a great book, "A Beautiful Mess," discussing the kingdom of God. Its written by the pastor of Imago Dei. Anyway, at Imago Dei, on one particular Sunday, the congregation decided to let kids lead worship by the adults watching the kids explore faith in their own eyes/ways/means. Big canvases throughout the worship area allowed kids to depict the image they had of God, Jesus, and their relationship in the kingdom. The adults watched and learned what a child-like faith might look like.

Interesting idea. Its good to know that not everyone has morphed the images of Christ and God into a westernized, democratic, version that we so very often succumb to...

-Ross

Check out the children's books by Sandy Sasso. She's a rabbi in Indiana. Check out "God's Paintbrush" and "In God's Name." If you like those, definately read her other books, like "Cain and Abel: Finding the Fruits of Peace."

Good luck!

I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas for a children's devotional. We as a family like to read after our evening meal and I am looking for some recommendations of children's books that incorporate the 'emergent conversation'.
